Digital Health Africa (DHA) is excited to announce a strategic partnership with the African Health Informatics Research Institute (AFHIRI) based in Entebbe, Uganda. This collaboration aims to advance digital health initiatives across the continent by combining DHA’s advocacy and community engagement expertise with AFHIRI’s research capabilities. About the Partners Digital Health Africa is dedicated to promoting the digital health agenda in Africa through media, research, community engagement, and advocacy.
Their initiatives include the African Digital Health Student Network, which fosters knowledge exchange and project-based learning among students interested in digital health. The African Digital Health Research Advancement Center is an independent, nonpartisan research institution in Uganda that supports knowledge mobilization and brokering to provide decision-makers with evidence-based knowledge and guidance. AFHIRI contributes to the development and implementation of evidence-informed policies and practices that create and strengthen equitable digital health systems.
Objectives of the Partnership
The collaboration between DHA and AFHIRI seeks to: Enhance Research and Innovation: By leveraging AFHIRI’s research expertise, the partnership aims to develop evidence-based digital health solutions tailored to the African context. Promote Capacity Building: Through joint programs, the partnership will focus on training and mentoring the next generation of digital health professionals across Africa. Advocate for Policy Development: Combining efforts, DHA and AFHIRI will work towards influencing digital health policies that promote equitable and resilient healthcare systems.
This partnership marks a significant step towards harnessing digital technology to address healthcare challenges in Africa.
